MORE INFORMATION ON MYIA
Myia was abandoned by her hunter and was living on the street. Despite multiple attempts to rescue her, she evaded capture for some time. Eventually, it became clear that she was pregnant but she was still too elusive to catch. Once she’d had her litter, she was more easy to find and was rescued along with her litter. All but one of them found homes quickly, but she was left behind. She is now in foster in central London where we hope she stands more chance of being seen and finding a home.
Myia is medium sized and is slightly fuzzy. She really enjoys the company of other dogs and initially when she arrived to foster, clung to the resident dog like glue, only doing what she did. It hasn’t taken long for her to gain her independence - she is now able to take walks on her own, down busy London streets. She really is a fighter and has shown huge resilience and an ability to cope in a busy urban environment despite initially being shy and a little scared. She is living in a flat currently and copes very well. Whilst she is becoming happier to spend time on her own, we do think she would benefit from another dog in the home as a move will likely unsettle her for a short period and another dog is key to working through that. She has a lovely calm, sweet nature and settles really well at home, but also loves to stretch her legs and have a play from time to time. Given Myia’s ability to live in Central London, any location would work for her. We don’t think she’d be suitable for young children due to her initial nerves, but could be homed with older children.
Myia is neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now.
