MORE INFORMATION ON GALA

Gala was found on the streets and taken to a Pererra near Valencia. When the team visited in February 2025, they met her and were determined to get her out. With the help of a contact, we managed to secure her release for the Pererra and get her over to Seville and into one of our partner kennels.

When we met Gala in the pererra, she was on a leash and was OK to be fussed and petted, however on arrival to the kennells about a month later, she seemed much more timid. She formed a strong bond with Indigo, also from the same pererra who travelled with her to Seville and sought comfort and safety with him, choosing to hide behind him in her kennel. Indigo is also quite shy, but a little more curious than Gala. Our partners are working hard to spend time with both dogs, and have recently started taking them our for walks on the harness and lead. Due to her nerves and her ‘flight’ instinct, Gala can be quite strong on the lead, but overall walks well considering it is still very new for her. Regular walks and proximity to people will be key to improving her confidence, as will a home with a garden so she can have days off from walks if she is a little overwhelmed. She also needs at least one other confident dog in the home to learn from and bond with, as we can see how much she values canine company. With time and patience, we believe Gala will blossom into a wonderful dog.

Gala will be neutered and is vaccinated and tested negative for all Mediterranean diseases. She is passported and available for adoption now.
