Hope for Podencos
Together we are stronger.
Hope For Podencos is a registered charity, but we are more than that. We are a community built by those working towards the same goal. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, rehome, spread awareness and provide support for Podencos of all shapes and sizes. We do this through our extensive network and dedicated team.
No longer will they be ‘The Great Forgotten’ as we are their voice.
Our Podencos that need you!

Meet Our Founders.
Irene and Steve Allan have over 30 years experience with dogs, Irene in the showing arena and both of them as groomers. They moved from Scotland to Spain in 2009 and donated their time grooming rescue dogs in the shelters in the hope this would make them more adoptable, this is how they discovered the The Plight of the Podenco. They set up the ‘Hope For Podencos’ foundation in 2014, focusing on this particular breed that so needed their support.
Podencos come in all shapes and sizes.
We understand not everyone is in a position to adopt a Podenco, but there are still so many ways you can help. Please FOLLOW us on social media and SHARE our beautiful pods, you have no idea the power of a like, comment or share - it only takes one person to see that post to find a dog their forever home.
